Beautiful friendship…across the miles

I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new”

No one wants to be at the mercy of life standing alone, so today I give thanks to all my beautiful friends across the globe. I am truly grateful for the people (old and new) who are bringing joy into my life.

Ten years ago when I left my native land, one of my greatest fears was losing my friends who have been in my life for so long. Some of them had been in my life for as long as I can remember; as far back as primary school and many came into my life by coincidence. Deep down I knew that my real friends will never forget me but I couldn’t help wondering if they will write me off once I’ve disappeared to the other side of the world. My friends have been blessings, they have challenged me  when I doubted my ability, motivated me when I was ready to give up  and they were there for me when life was not so good to me! They continue to do so even if we are miles apart.I hope you have been blessed with amazing friendship too and you are grateful that they are still in your life. Friendship is an important part of life so value your friends, treat them as you would like to be treated and you will be rewarded with trustworthy and happy long-lasting friendship.

Meet two of my beautiful  friends…

Jenny came into my life as a young graduate. I was her boss and mentor and we became friends. I am 15 years her senior but being around her made me feel young! She taught me to loosen up and have fun. I love this photo taken on her wedding day as it shows the passionate, loving and sincere Jenny I’ve known for 13 years.

Michelle- It feels like we have been friends forever …27 years of amazing friendship

Michelle and I have been friends since we were teenagers. We met when we started our post secondary studies.  We have been there for each other during all the lows and the highs of our lives. I was there for her when she lost her sister and she was the first person I called  when I lost my father. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding and  is the godmother of my daughter.  We’ve had  27 years of great friendship and I am thankful for that.

Remember to be thankful  for all the wonderful people in your life.

Much love
